Overpainted photography
Various dimensions
Ongoing project since 2025

This series of self-portraits uses the artist’s own image as a point of departure for transformation. Analog photographs are digitally overpainted; skin opens, limbs branch out, new body parts grow from the body itself. What initially appears familiar begins to proliferate, to multiply, becoming monstrous and at the same time vulnerable.
The works move between naturalism and hybridity, between the organic and digital intervention. They explore self-staging and self-representation in an age of permanent visibility, raising questions of authorship and control over one’s own body. Queer corporealities, feminist perspectives, and activist impulses shape the depiction of the self. How can a female-read body be represented beyond repressive visual language?
The monstrous does not appear as a threat, but as a possibility, as an act of resistance, as a form of transformation and radical self-appropriation. Growth becomes a political statement, a proliferation against normative ascriptions and a becoming-visible beyond fixed boundaries.
